Nicola has worked at the heart of Government, in senior corporate positions, and delivered award-winning communications campaigns. A Cambridge graduate and qualified journalist, Nicola began her career as a reporter in East London and Essex, before moving into public relations with the Government Communications and Information Service (GICS), where she advised ministers in a variety of Government Departments, including a stint as Gordon Brown's press secretary at the Treasury. After a successful career in the GICS, which saw her rise to Chief Press Officer at the Department for Education and Skills, Nicola made the move into the private sector as Media Relations Manager for Thames Water. As well as running the press office of the UK's largest water company, Nicola has also delivered a number of high-profile campaigns, notably the award-winning London On Tap campaign, which is promoting tap water throughout the capital. Nicola is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
