Gordon bashing - the new bloodsport?
Can't help thinking this current feeding frenzy on our beleaguered PM is getting out of control. Adopting the position of Bear-Baiter-in-Chief is that guardian of the nation's morals, The Sun, practically frothing at the mouth over the PM's latest 'gaffe' - his poor grammar and spelling as evinced in his handwritten letter of condolence (yes, that's the correct spelling) to Jackie Janes, mother to young Jamie Janes who was killed in action in Afghanistan.

Streets not paved with gold for londonpaper
So after three years it's farewell to thelondonpaper. Murdoch pulled the plug after baulking at the title's £13m losses, leaving the way clear for the weaker London Lite and struggling London Evening Standard to gain some ground. For the Standard this must be something of a reprieve. Having been bailed out to the tune of £25million by a wealthy Russian earlier this year, the paper still hasn't managed to turn a profit. BBC bottles it
And so to today's amusing revelation from the Grauniad that Aunty Beeb has been forking out the best part of half a million quid on bottled water for its thirsty employees (http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2 009/aug/11/bbc-bottled-water).

Watch out for the Westminster Roundabout
Had the good fortune to attend the glittering CIPR Awards this week and was seated near a Whitehall spin doctor. Being a former spinner myself, we exchanged pleasantries and shared gossip, and soon the conversation turned to our respective careers.
